While we’re not sure a lighthearted folk ditty was the right route to take to make your audience feel guilty for polluting the air, it was the 1970s, and we’ll blame it on the hippies. We’re sorry if you’ve get this song stuck in your head all day, but maybe it will make you think twice about leaving your car idling in the driveway after work. After all, you’d hate to be blamed for the “banished bird.”
