As you may have noticed Blisstree Green is all about green living, and while health, in my opinion, is heavily related to green living, they’re not totally one and the same, and this is not technically this isn’t a health site. That said, I don’t post health issues unless they relate to green – however, I recently came across a very interesting article about the worst mall food in America, and it’s too good not to post.

Plus the mall is such an anti-green place to be anyhow. It’s crowded, all lit up, and all those goods in one place make it easy to succumb to buying more not less, which is one of the least eco-friendly things you can do. But I digress. With the busy holiday shopping season here, you may in fact be hitting the mall which means you’ll encounter mall food.
In the piece I just read, it’s noted that “The more temptation people resist, the harder it becomes to continue resisting. That means after hours of being surrounded by last-minute sales, special offers and life-changing, one-time deals, your ability to resist the enticing edibles of the mall food court may be severely compromised.” Since mall food is anything but healthy this lack of willpower can be damaging to your body.
The piece goes on to highlight the nutritional pitfalls found in nearly every mall food court in America. The list is pretty darn scary – but in good news the piece also highlights some smarter choices you could choose over the biggest baddies.
Other ways to avoid temptation is to take snacks along, only visit mall stores you can enter from the outside, and eat a healthy meal before heading out. Shopping zaps your strength, so be ready going in.
