I recently posted a review of an eco-friendly laundry detergent, Vaska herbatergent. In said review, I noted that I liked the detergent as much as my regular favorite, Biokleen detergent, but that the cons were no animal testing policy, low availability, and no powder (which could help cut down on packaging).

UPDATE:

I heard back from a couple of Vaska company reps who noted the following…

  • “I would like to assure you that we do NOT do any animal testing. I have submitted our application to Leaping Bunny and will see it through.
  • We are also going to state our animal testing policy on our web site.
  • We have a powder hitting the shelves in January.”

Nice, nice, and nice. This is good news since their Vaska’s herbatergent really did work very well. I’ll be watching their site for the Leaping Bunny and bonus points for them actually getting back to me. Especially since my usual conversation with companies go a little something like this….

  • Sheer and utter silence when I have a question or wonder about a negative aspect of their product.
  • Defensive anger. Case in point; today I got an email from an “organic” company who shall remain nameless, but long story short their products aren’t 100% organic (or certified), which I noted in their review. Also, in spite of this I still gave them a pretty good score, but they email me this, “We are shocked that our product did not get a more glowing review.” Hmmm, well, then fix your organic issues. Lame.

Based on product use and the company’s ability to get back to me, I’m going to recommend again that you give Vaska herbatergent a whirl.
