Plastic was one type, but as noted many plastic reusable bottles have many downsides. Many are made of polycarbonate, which while durable, also is known to leech bisphenol A (BPA). Plastic is also made with non-renewable oil, doesn’t keep drinks too cold, and research shows that people don’t recycle as much plastics as they can (the U.S. standard plastic recycling rate is just 24%).
