As noted, May is National Bike Month. This is good for all of America because it keeps people and the earth healthy. However, if you’re an avid biker, it’s better to live where it’s actually bike friendly vs. a place where people think hitting folks on bikes is a good sport (ahem, Salem Oregon – when I lived there anyhow).

- Portland, Oregon, is the No. 2 most bike-friendly city in the world.
- “In Davis, California, more people cycle to work than drive.”
- “A growing number of Minneapolis residents continue to commute by bike through the winter.”

Still, we all can’t just up and move to a super bike friendly city, but we can take steps to make where we currently live more bike friendly. Here are some tips:
