Yup folks, it’s officially April and with April comes Earth Day. Yahoo. Now, while I’m not all down on Earth Day, (like I am about Earth Hour) I do have some mixed emotions about Earth Day.

Earth Day CONS:

I hate the whole let’s celebrate green ONE day this year deal. Come on now, we can do much better.

I don’t love all the Earth Day greenwashing – unless your company, product, or little ol’ self are going to walk the green living talk year round, or at least make an effort, don’t push your Earth Day greenwash bliss on me. Lame.

Earth Day PROS:

Earth Day has the ability to make believers out of non-green-heads. For those not on board with green living, Earth Day can make a difference. It may be the one time of year that earth-related issues are pulled fourth and pushed at people in a significant way. While I don’t love that aspect (it should be significant all year), if Earth Day changes one life or one family for the long term, it’s a good deal.

There are usually plenty of cool Earth Day events going on during the month and on the day. This means eco-fun for you and your family and friends.
