Well, if you still have not, then you would surely be interested to know that there is such a thing. In fact, one of the latest pieces of news that I have stumbled upon today is the largest known solar parking structure that can be found in the Western part of the United States.

This record-holding solar parking structure is the Belmar and it can be found in Lakewood, Colorado. The whole structure has been a project of the Continuum Lakewood Development Company which has been working with the MMA Renewable Ventures, the SunPower Corporation, as well as the Oak Leaf Energy Partners. Together, they all have created a whole solar power project that has the capacity to generate 1.75 megawatts. Yes. It is that big. And the whole thing has been mounted on three garages that are meant for parking.

Bill Ritter is Colorado’s governor and he said, “I congratulate Continuum for its leadership and call upon developers and business owners throughout the nation to follow the example we’ve set here in Lakewood.”
